Sprykin Guide

Sprykin is the Enchanted Wilds origin that summons the Big Furry Friend and lets a chosen Rider gain a pile of Health and Attack Speed. Deeper breakpoints share more of that bonus with the rest of the board. It is also the home of Veigar, the 1-cost that can actually 3-star into a win if you slow-roll like an adult.

Use this with reroll versus Fast 8 and the comp tier list. Patch 18.1 is live. Do not wait for 18.2 on September 10 to learn the Rider rule.

Who is Sprykin

Kobuko, Veigar, Teemo, Tristana, Rammus, and Gnar.

2TeemoInvoker, mushroom economy

Veigar is still the dedicated Sprykin reroll. Large placement samples after August 31 still sit near 4.14 when uncontested; Academy parks it as situational. Everyone else is glue, a Rider candidate, or a cap. Emblems can put a non-Sprykin on the Friend — that is the spicy bag, not the default.

The Friend and the Rider

At 3 Sprykin you get the Big Furry Friend and pick a Rider. The Rider gains substantial Health and Attack Speed. At 5, a portion of the Friend’s bonus applies to the team. At 7, a larger portion applies to Sprykin champions.

Default stop is 5. 7 is for uncontested Veigar lobbies that already 3-starred the carry. Do not sell your only 2-star tank to paint 7 Sprykin with 1-stars.

Who rides:

  • Early: a 2-star Kobuko or Rammus that must live.
  • Dedicated Veigar: often Veigar himself once he is 2-star and holding AP — he stacks Ability Power on takedowns, so surviving the first two seconds matters.
  • Emblem spicy: a 4-cost from another origin who suddenly qualifies. Scout this. An opponent’s Ahri on the Friend is not “just Sprykin.”

Veigar roll 5

This is the dedicated reroll when copies are open. Slow-roll at 50 gold on 5. Slam AP immediately — Rabadon’s, Blue Buff, Jeweled Gauntlet — from the item recipes. Kobuko and Rek’Sai (Blackthorn, not Sprykin) fill frontline and sacrifice roles. Do not play this into two other Veigar players. If you bleed every Stage 3, you are not a Veigar player; play Fast 8 strongest board.

Blackthorn’s marked hex often wants a cheap 3-star, which Veigar boards already make. Do not park 3-star Veigar on the sacrifice tile unless 6 Blackthorn is letting the occupant survive — confirm the tooltip on positioning.

Teemo and Gnar

Teemo’s mushrooms can pay rerolls, Health, or XP depending on the live tooltips. That is why Sprykin has an economy angle even when Veigar is contested. Treat mushrooms as a bonus, not a reason to itemize Teemo over Veigar.

Gnar is a 5-cost cap who also belongs to Elderwood. Buy him when you need Mega Gnar disruption, not because the origin list includes him. A 5 Sprykin board with 3-star Veigar and no Gnar is already a 1st if the lobby let you hit.

Wisps and the roll-down

Slow-roll boards see extra shops, which means extra Wisps. Skip garbage Risky orbs. Buy Combat when you are on a streak or below 20 HP. Champion Wisps that inject Veigar copies are premium. The rules are on how Wisps work. Rolling to zero and leaving a Combat orb in the shop is how reroll players donate LP.

Common Sprykin mistakes

Riding a 1-star every game out of habit. Forcing Veigar into a three-player contest. Itemizing Tristana because she is 3-cost. Going 7 Sprykin with a naked Friend and no 2-star. Mixing Adaptor items onto Veigar because Yi is also in the shop.

If Veigar is taken, you can still splash 3 Sprykin for the Friend on a tank and play another engine — Blossom, Riftbeast, or strongest board. The Friend is an opener tool. Veigar 3-star is a commitment.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Quick answers for Enchanted Wilds players.

Who should ride the Big Furry Friend?

Whoever must live the next fight. Early: a 2-star tank. On a Veigar board: Veigar once he holds AP. Emblem Riders are the exception.

Is Veigar the only Sprykin carry?

He is the dedicated S-tier reroll. Tristana and Gnar cap other boards. Do not 3-star Kobuko as the win condition.

Should I always go 7 Sprykin?

No. Stop at 5 unless Veigar is already 3-star and the next two copies are free.

Can a non-Sprykin ride?

With a Sprykin Emblem, yes. That is a high-roll, not the default opener.
