TFT Enchanted Wilds Enchanted Wilds Economy and Carousel
Interest, levels, and the shared draft that came back in 18.1.
Gold is still the real resource in TFT Enchanted Wilds. Wisps only look like the star of Set 18. Every orb has a price, and that price comes out of the same wallet you use for XP, shop rerolls, and 2-stars. Players who leak 10 gold every round never see the comp tier list lines they copied from a streamer.
This page covers the three spend buttons and the Carousel that patch 18.1 put back into the set. Pair it with how Wisps work so the fourth button does not ambush you.
Interest still wins Stage 2
You gain 1 gold per 10 gold banked, up to 5 at 50. Win streaks and loss streaks add extra. Enchanted Wilds did not remove that curve. It made 50 gold harder to hold because a 4-cost Wisp can appear while you are still collecting copies. The default plan:
- Stage 1–2: buy pairs, slam one item, stay above 10 gold.
- Stage 3: decide whether you are a streaking Fast 8 or a roll-down.
- Stage 4: either hit 8 with a bank or roll at 7 for a 3-cost carry.
- Stage 5+: Combat Wisps become the late-game tempo button.
If you are playing Sprykin Veigar or another 1-cost reroll from reroll versus Fast 8, you slow-roll at 50 on 5 or 6. That is the one time sitting still is the plan. Fast 8 boards should level on tempo and only roll when a 4-cost is actually in the shop odds.
XP, rerolls, and Wisps share one pile
The XP button buys a level. Rerolls buy copies. Wisps buy a one-round effect. Compare them in that order:
- If a level unlocks a 4-cost shop and you have items ready, XP wins.
- If you are one copy off a 2-star tank, rerolls win.
- If you are dead next fight, a Combat Wisp wins.
- If none of those are true, hold 50.
Opening Encounters in patch 18.1 can gift Completed Item Anvils or extra rerolls. Those encounters do not replace economy; they change which button you press first. Item Forge means you can slam two completed items and play strongest board. Reroll Subscription supports the slow-roll lines in the champion rankings.
Carousel is a repair tool
Set 17 moved away from classic Carousel. Enchanted Wilds brings it back. Lower Health picks first. Units appear with items already attached, and patch 18.1 can spawn extra champions or higher-cost champions on some rounds. That last rule is the trap: the component you planned to take is not always the pick.
Priority list for Enchanted Wilds Carousels:
- The exact component that finishes Infinity Edge, Blue Buff, or Gargoyle on your live carry — see item recipes.
- A copy of a contested 4-cost that your lobby is starving.
- A high-cost unit that completes a trait breakpoint, including Avatar Lux if her Origin is the one you need.
- A tank item when your frontline is evaporating.
- Spatula or an emblem only if it creates a real vertical, not a vanity 6-piece.
Young and Wild and Free is relevant again because you can move freely on Carousel. If you take that Augment, use the extra gold and the free walk to grab a contested carry, not a random belt.
Streaks, Health, and Stage 4–7 loot
Win streaks pay. Loss streaks pay less and cost Health. Coven players sometimes want losses for Essence, but that is a dedicated engine described on the trait tier list, not a default plan. For everyone else, a mixed Stage 2 with 2-stars is better than a greedy loss streak into a theoretical 9.
Patch 18.1 also lets missed PvE loot from Stage 4-7 onward overflow into the next PvE round. If you full-cap and drop a Krug drop, you are not always punished forever. Still, leave a bench slot before those rounds.
A simple spend script
Before every planning phase, ask: do I die this fight, do I 2-star this round, or do I level? If the answer is none, look at the Wisp. If the Wisp is not obviously better than 1 interest, skip it and look at Carousel for the component you actually need. Then go back to the getting started guide only if you still cannot name your next spend.
Frequently Asked Questions
Quick answers for Enchanted Wilds players.
Should I always hold 50 gold?
Hold 50 until a 2-star, a level, or a Combat Wisp is clearly worth breaking it. Reroll comps hold 50 longer than Fast 8.
What changed about Carousel in Set 18?
It returned, and some rounds can include extra or higher-cost champions. Pick the unit or component that repairs the live board.
Is buying XP ever wrong?
Yes. Buying 8 with no items and no 4-cost copies just donates Health. Level when the shop odds match your line.
How do Wisps interact with interest?
They cost gold. Skip mid-game economy orbs that drop you off a 10-gold breakpoint unless they win the fight. See how Wisps work.
